Online Road Safety Media Skills Workshop
Road Safety Support’s experienced marketing and public relations team deliver half-day online Media Skills Workshops to road safety professionals who are keen to promote their activities through the media.
The interactive sessions, for up to 10 attendees, focus on the importance of working proactively with the news media and using social media to amplify messages.
The workshops, which are delivered using video conferencing software, are suitable for anybody working in road safety, from police officers to road safety officers, whether marketing is part of their role or not.
They give attendees the knowledge and the confidence to make full use of the 'free' marketing tools available to them.
They are also useful refreshers for road safety communications managers who would like to learn more about writing for the media or for those who are new to road safety marketing and PR.
The workshops, which are delivered by road safety marketing specialists who have worked in the field for the last two decades, are tailored to suit the needs of the attendees, but can cover the following:
- Deterrence
- Nudging and herding
- An overview of the media
- What makes a news story
- Press release writing
- Road safety news story ideas
- Social media marketing
- The use of road casualty data in news stories
- Joint working
By working effectively with the media alongside their enforcement activities, police forces and safer roads partnerships can help to change public perceptions and deter dangerous behaviour on the roads.
Our workshops are available for members and non-members of Road Safety Support, priced at £100 plus VAT for members and £175 plus VAT for non-members.
